Nusa Penida Beaches

This hub brings together our guides to Nusa Penida beaches, including Kelingking Beach, Diamond Beach, Atuh Beach and Broken Beach. Each guide comes from our local driver-guides, who know these spots well. So you get practical tips on the paths, the sea and the best photo angles.

Which Nusa Penida beaches should you see?

Most of the famous views sit on the west and east coasts. In the west, Kelingking Beach has the well-known T-Rex shaped cliff, while Broken Beach is a natural arch around a calm bay. Angel’s Billabong, a rock pool by the sea, sits right next to it.

On the east side, Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach offer white sand, clear water and steep cliffs. Because these two beaches sit close together, you can often see both in one morning.

Safety tips for the cliffs and the sea

Many Nusa Penida beaches look easy from the top, but the paths down can be steep and tiring. For example, the trail down to the sand at Kelingking takes real effort, so good shoes and water matter. In addition, waves on the open coast can be strong. That is why we suggest you swim only where the sea looks calm and local signs allow it.

Before you go, check the forecast on BMKG, the Indonesian weather agency. Also, your driver-guide will tell you on the day which spots are safe to walk down.
